Peter at the Coronation
Scouts Hereford and Worcester were honoured to have several volunteers, including one from The Malverns, in London for the Coronation weekend in May. Their roles were varied, some front line in the public eye and many others behind the scenes supporting. A few examples were wayfinding for members of the public, safeguarding of volunteers, supporting the accessible viewing area, coronation camp, media interviews, running the provider shop at Gilwell Park, providing transportation and more….
Throughout the weekend the Scouts also acting as ambassadors for Scouting, generally helping members of the public whenever they could. Many travelled in uniform – a neckerchief is known the world over and new friendships were made in railway stations and airports. The weekend was also a great opportunity for to meet Scouts from the across The Commonwealth, here again new friendships have developed.
Peter Allen was there from Scouts The Malverns. For the Coronation, Peter was centrally positioned in St James Park. The photos below show some of Peter’s activities (click on each image to get a larger version). Can you spot Peter in each photograph?
