22May2022

From 14:00 until 18:00

Please see final details of the Jubilee Tea Party below:

Date 22nd May 2022
Venue: Warren Oak, Staplow.
Time 2pm-6pm

The timetable is as follows:

1pm - available leaders arrive to help setup the tables (provided by groups), food will be provided by the District.
1:40pm - Young people to start arriving
2pm - Start with a wide game (postbox) which they can do as individuals or in groups and late comers can join in as they arrive
2:45pm - Formal Welcome, followed by outdoor party / street games, groups to provide a couple of activities and the adults required to supervise your activity on the day for approx. 1 hour.
4pm - Sit down for Tea party, each group to bring enough tables and benches for their YP. We would like to have one long table for the District, if possible.
5pm - Campfire, or if anyone wants to leave early this is their opportunity. (Groups to be encouraged to do either a skit or song)
6pm - Close and depart.

Cost for each young person will be £2 per head to reserve their place. This will go toward the cost of the food.

We are asking groups to publicise the event and we would like numbers by Friday 13th May. (It is also important that we have any allergies at this time.) The District will cover the cost of the food and will do the catering, but we will need a couple of volunteers to give us a hand on the day. Please let us know if you are able to help.

Street games - Can each group please come up at least a couple of games to play / activities to do, for around 1 hour before the sit down tea. We will send a shared file to GSLs to collate these to try and avoid duplication. Young people will be able to roam freely during this time so activities can be for a few or many, but we do need enough activities for everyone.

First Aid - The District will provide a kit in the main hall and leaders to manage individual incidents as necessary, just report any incidents to us on the day.

Inclement weather - Potentially we will have far more people than we can accommodate within the pack holiday centre. If we are only expected to get a light shower can groups please bring dining shelters/ gazebos. If the weather is due to be heavy rain then we will consider postponing / cancelling the event.

Camping - If anyone wants to camp during the weekend, there is currently availability, please contact Pete Ashcroft directly.

If anyone has any questions or concerns please let us know.
